Treating the person, not the symptoms
During the consultation, you will be asked to review your history, and tell the homoeopath how you feel. The homœopath guides this process, in order to prescribe the most suitable remedy.

Only one medicine: All your symptoms: mental, emotional and physical, are expressions of a disturbance in your vital force. When this pattern is recognised, only one remedy at a time is needed.

Subtle and powerful stimulation - A correctly prescribed homœopathic remedy influences autonomic functions, including hormonal, nervous system, sleep, and emotional states. This release allows the body to heal the results of accumulated stress.

Cause, not results - Because homoeopathic remedies are not chemical in nature, but energetic, they stimulate the pre-disposition and the susceptibility, rather than the effects of the disturbance. They do not suppress symptoms. They support the body in healing the weakness or tendency.

Potentised remedies - Remedies are potentised in the homœopathic pharmacy, to create “micro-dilutions”. This process continues to mystify the materialistically minded within the scientific community, but it is based on easily explained empirical principles. The realm of homoeopathy is closer to quantum physics than to biochemical medicine. Remedies are made from plants, minerals and animals.

Less is more - The Power of Memory - Every seed or fertilised egg has a Memory, or vital force, which informs the nature of the organism. In the mineral realm, crystals form according to a pattern which governs the molecular structure, and all other properties. During dilution and succussion, the material is dissipated, and the Memory is retained in the solvent. Water acts as an amplifier for Memory. As the remedy is further potentised, the liberated vital force or memory is enhanced, and becomes a more powerful medicine.

The Proving of Medicines - Each individual remedy has it’s own unique power to heal. Since the18th century, homœopaths have been adding more remedies through empirical studies, known as Provings. Groups of volunteers take the remedy, and the subtle effects to vital functions are reported. This study reveals the sphere of action of the new medicine.

Like Cures Like - The symptoms are not the dis-ease, but the indications that reveal the nature of the problem. We give a remedy that can cause similar symptoms, and this supports your bodies own healing force. This enhanced healing power allows you to "throw off" the ailments by tackling the weakness at the core of the problem, with the result that you will feel an improvement at all levels.

The consultation - During the first consultation, a full history is taken, starting with the presenting problem. The history of your symptoms is a map to a homœopath. By tracing this progression, a pattern emerges, which provides the basis for the homœopathic prescription.

After receiving the remedy, you are asked to observe changes. As energy begins to flow again, there will be changes physically, emotionally and mentally, which may also result in insights and understanding about yourself, and how to remain well.

A follow up appointment is required, usually after one month, to evaluate the action of the remedy, and make adjustments where necessary. Further appointments are then arranged by agreement.

In the treatment of children, parents provide details of the child’s complaint, and history. The homœopath will talk with the child directly if possible. Observation is a crucial component of gathering the necessary information. There are toys and crayons in the consulting room. The session is managed in a child centred way. Older children may choose to see the homoeopath on their own.

After the consultation, the homœopath studies the symptom pattern, in order to arrive at an individualised prescription. Through a detailed analysis, the correct homœopathic remedy can be selected. The remedy is usually sent to the patient by post, within a week of the consultation.
