Treating the person, not the symptoms
During the consultation, you will be guided by the homoeopath to review your history. The remedy will be selected that most closely matches your individual condition.

All symptoms: mental, emotional and physical, are expressions of a disturbance in the vital force. When this pattern is recognised, only one remedy at a time is needed.

Remedies are made in the homœopathic pharmacy, to create “micro-dilutions”. This process continues to mystify science, but it is based on empirical principles. The realm of homoeopathy is closer to quantum physics than to biochemistry. Remedies are made from plants, minerals and animals.

Every plant and animal carries a Memory, or vital force, which informs the nature of the organism. Every crystal forms according to patterns which governs the molecular structure. During dilution and succussion, the material is dissipated, and this Memory is retained in the solvent. Water acts as an amplifier for Memory. As the remedy is further potentised, the liberated vital force or memory is enhanced, and becomes a more powerful medicine.

Each remedy has it’s own unique power to heal. Since the18th century, homœopaths have been adding more remedies through empirical studies, known as Provings. Groups of volunteers take the remedy, and the subtle effects to vital functions are reported. This study reveals the sphere of action of the new medicine.

The symptoms are not the dis-ease, but the indications that reveal the nature of the problem. The homœopathic remedy supports the body's own healing force, and allows you to "throw off" the ailments by tackling the weakness at the core of the problem, with the result that you will feel an improvement at all levels.

During the first consultation, a full history is taken, starting with the presenting problem. The history of your symptoms is a map to a homœopath, and provides the basis for the homœopathic prescription.

You will be asked to observe changes. As energy begins to flow again, there will be changes physically, emotionally and mentally, which may also result in insights and understanding about yourself, and how to remain well.

The pace of action of homœopathic remedies is relative to the condition being treated. An acute problem can resolve in hours or even minutes. A long term condition will change more gradually. Generally, the follow up evaluation is one month after the first remedy.

Homœopathy is very suitable for children. The parents give details of the child’s complaint, and history, and then the homœopath will talk with the child directly if possible. Observation is a crucial component of gathering the necessary information. There are toys and crayons in the consulting room. These sessions are managed in a child centred way. Older children may choose to see the homoeopath on their own.

The homœopath studies the symptom pattern, in order to arrive at an individualised prescription. Through a detailed analysis, the correct homœopathic remedy is selected. The remedy is usually sent to the patient by post, within a week of the consultation.
