What you can expect
The first consultation takes one hour; Helen will take a detailed medical history, covering not only your current complaint and medications, but also your diet and lifestyle. Physical examinations may be useful to carry out. Then Helen formulates an individually designed herbal prescription for you to take away.
Your medicine
Typically, your prescription will be a mixture of herbal tinctures. This mixture is usually taken in teaspoonful doses in hot water up to three times per day. Children are given reduced doses. Herb teas, syrups, tablets or ointments may also be prescribed. Follow ups last half an hour. After your first consultation, it is beneficial for you to return after two weeks, so Helen can see how the medicines are working for you. After that, monthly consultations usually suffice. A course of treatment, on average, takes around 3 months.
Fees
Adults £40 (follow-ups £25) Under 18s £30 (follow-ups £15)
Cost of herbal medicine per week: £7
